Everything I tattooed in August 2024… – Lu Loram-Martin

Happy August! Can you believe we’ve hit the ‘ber’ months already!!! Time has passed very quickly for me, perhaps because it’s been filled with so many amazing tattoo projects 🙂. Here’s everything I tattooed in August…

Housekeeping- As always, there is only one photo for each tattoo, but there are links below to any extra photos on my social media. I now schedule all my social media posts, so a lot of these tattoos are waiting to be posted, but l’ll update links as they do!

Sandra

I’ve had the pleasure of tattooing Sandra a tonne over the years. She has this patchwork sleeve that I know everyones looooves, and now we’re working on her other arm! She has a mix of my flash / pre-drawn designs and smaller meaningful additions, and I’ve loved assembling them all together. This time we added a snake and flower piece I drew a loong time ago with a teeny dragonfly and dragon for some important people in her life.

Sam

Same came all the way from Kalamazoo, MI, to get this reading inspired tattoo from me 🥹. I absolutely loved designing this piece for her, it has so much meaning wrapped up into a beautiful tattoo. She wanted to keep it very light and flowy, and I think we definitely achieved that.

IG

Scott

I’ve tattooed Scott a bunch over the years!!!! He is the owner of this octopus tattoo, which has got to be one of my most a popular tattoos. He’s a biologist and has been gradually collecting a patchwork sleeve of flora and fauna, and I love this little brown bat tattoo we added.

Sahana

Sahana grabbed one of my ‘Summer Special’ deals in August and I freehand this gorgeous waterlily tattoo for her. It wraps really prettily around some existing tattoos she has, and has leaves and buds that you can’t see in this photo.

IG

Kim

Kim has two sleeves by me already! You might remember her starwars inspired sleeve? And we added this beaut of a peony to her thigh this month 🙂.

IG

Grazielle

Grazielle made the trip down from Montréal with her husband JP (see below) for this delicate floral and butterfly tattoo! We kept it very fineline, but (as always) we left space between the details for the tattoo to age.

Tiktok

JP

I’ve been lucky enough to tattoo JP before , and was so so happy when he asked me to do this Capricorn tattoo on his other arm!! It was so fun to design and tattoo. I also got to see his Canadian season inspired half-sleeve two years healed, and you know seeing healed tattoos is my favourite thing.

IG

Victoria

I also got to hang out with another couple of long-time tattoo clients Victoria and Jess (see below) In August. I have been tattooing them from when I first arrived in Canada in 2016!!!! It’s actually been 4 years since I’ve tattooed Victoria, as she’s had a beautiful daughter in that time. So I was sooo happy to freehand this peo-knee for her 🙂. Here’s a selection of her healed tattoo work too (link coming soon!)!

IG

Jess

It was finally time for me to cover a butterfly that Jess hated since she first got it tattooed! You can see the original here.

You might remember her gorgeous leg tattoo, which is now 7 months healed. She told me that she never wore shorts before getting her leg tattoo and now she lives in them 🙂.

I also got to take a bunch of healed photos that are going to be posted on my social media this September.

IG

Paul

Paul chose to be part of my freehand ‘Give Yourself Flowers’ project. In Victorian Flower Language (aka. Floriography) tulips mean ‘I declare my love for you’, and my project is all about getting tulip tattoos as a declaration of love for yourself. If you’ve not heard of my ongoing tattoo project, you can read more about it here. Tulips are also particularly special to Paul and his wife 🖤.

IG

Hong

Hong snapped up a last minute cancellation via my newsletter, and also became part of the ‘Give Yourself Flowers’ club. It was a pleasure to tattoo her for the first time 🙂.

Tedi

I was so excited to finish up Tedi’s tulips in August. These flow all around her forearm and up to her inner bicep, and I just love them so much. You have to check the flowers to see how they wrap 🙂.

IG

Sheryl

Sheryl grabbed a last minute cancellation spot through my newsletter for this super cute peo-knee tattoo. I also got to see her peony foot tattoo 5 years healed!

Malvina

Malvina asked me to freehand these Rosa Woodsii in August. I love having the challenge of being asked to tattoo a specific botanical species. Did you know there are over 300 species of roses?!

Bri

Bri travelled all the way from Seattle (😱) for me to tattoo this patchwork sleeve, which is inspired by her travels around Latin America. She was an absolute champ, and sat amazingly for two days straight. And I got to tattoo a Quetzal, Coati and Capybara, all of which I’ve not tattooed before! You have to check the photos to see everything we tattooed 🥰.

IG

Audrey

Audrey asked me to add this flower branch to her hand, which complements a piece on her other hand done by another arts. I also got to see their chest tattoo 10 months healed! I’ll add a link as soon as the phots are up on my SM.

Laura

Laura asked me to freehand these poppies in memory of her grandparents 🖤. I also grabbed healed shots of her HUGE leg piece, which is all healed up now. I’ll add a link once the photos are up on my social media.

Odette

Odette travelled all the way from Washington DC for me to complete her patchwork map-inspired sleeve! She already had a few tattoo from other artist but wanted to bring it all together with my work. I have scheduled for posting on my social media soon so I’ll add a link once they’re up!

And that’s August all wrapped up for now (I’ll add links as they appear on my social media). If you want to see everything I tattoo in September sign up for my newsletter!

And if you want to see everything I tattooed in July, here’s that blog post.

Thanks so much for reading!
