PLA also known as Polylactic Acid, is basically a special kind of plastic that is better for the environment.
It’s made from things like plants and corn which makes it possible to break down by itself and doesn’t stick around in the environment for too long!
Why is PLA a better choice?
Biodegradable: PLA breaks down naturally over time, reducing plastic waste, making it great for one-time use items. (ink cups, rinse cups, razors, bottle bags, pen machine covers). This is why we chose to add an eco-friendly line of products, because most all of our tattoo needs can be substituted for a more environmentally friendlyer option!
Renewable: As mentioned above, PLA is made from renewable sources like cornstarch! This is so beneficial because this helps us reduce our reliance on fossil fuels (oil, coil) for plastic.
Lower Carbon Emissions: Making PLA creates less air pollution than regular plastics, which is better for the environment.
Low Toxicity: It’s less harmful to people and the environment during production and use.
Recyclable: PLA can be recycled through composting and special recycling systems, further reducing its environmental impact.
