Method 1: Aftercare for Lining Tattoos
1. Remove the Dressing the Next Day.
2. Wash Well to Remove Plasma, this is essential. Do not let any plasma remain on the skin otherwise it will form a thick scab and will lengthen the healing process and could cause many problems.
3. Encourage Drying Out.
4. Use small amounts of hustle butter aftercare balm.
Method 2: Aftercare for Coloured Tattoos
1. Remove the dressing the next day.
2. Thoroughly wash with soap and hot water to remove plasma. This is essential. Do not let any plasma remain on the skin otherwise it will form a thick scab which will lengthen the healing process and could cause many problems. If you are having a tattoo over scars and the skin is raised and bumpy, please pay particular attention to cleaning in the dips of the skin where ink may sit and be difficult to remove.
3. Re-wrap with a cling film dressing with no cream or balm underneath.
4. Change the dressing three times a day, washing down with either gentle soap, hot water and baby wipes or hustle bubbles and baby wipes. Do this for three days. It is important to space out the cleaning and re-dressing as evenly as possible so as not to leave any cover on too long and risk a build up of bacteria under the dressing, which could lead to an infection.
5. Use Hustle Butter Balm after three days. Little and often is key.

Do Not:

3. Expose tattooed area to excessive friction or sweating.
Troubleshooting:
1. Spots on the skin around the tattoo: This is generally caused by heat rash from the cling film or by shaving the area before the tattoo. it could also be blocked pores. Our recommendation is to remove the dressing, clean well with soap and hot water or Hustle bubbles, and allow the tattoo to dry out. Do not continue wrapping the tattoo with cling film.
2. Weeping: This can be common in areas with a lot of movement and which can be prone to sitting a little more moist, such as elbow or knee ditch. Keep washing the tattoo to remove the weeping and encourage the tattoo to dry out. Use soap and hot water wherever possible to clean the tattoo and finish with baby wipes to encourage the whole area to dry out. Leave to dry for as many days as possible and only when is absolutely essential, use a tiny bit of Hustle butter healing balm to loosen the scab enough fo movement. Do not apply cream too early or too thickly as it will encourage the tattoo to weep even more.
3. Excessive Scabbing: This is normally caused by excess blood, ink and plasma not being removed properly during the first few days when the tattoo is sore. Some areas on the body are more prone to this too, it is unfortunately sometimes just unavoidable. Do not pick these scabs as it will result in a loss of colour and can cause scarring. Keep the tattoo clean, washing daily, but not soaking. Allow the scabs to fall off on their own.
